Neverfail launches Continuous Availability Director for disaster recovery

Neverfail launched a new management console, the Neverfail Continuous Availability Director, which gives users a view of high availability and disaster recovery (DR) across systems and services dependent on several applications. The Continuous Availability Director also adds to business continuity with centralized global health statuses and alerts, a graphical representation of switchover and failover statuses and the status of rules and events through collapsible display options. Continuous Availability Director is available now as part of the Neverfail Continuous Availability Suite.

Datacastle launches business resiliency product

Datacastle launched Datacastle RED, a disaster recovery product that turns potentially vulnerable information on laptops and desktops into resilient data that can be encrypted, recovered and deleted if necessary. DataCore Software announced that its storage virtualization technology is helping to power a cloud computing platform by The platform also includes VMware server virtualization and Cisco Nexus virtual network technologies. Each virtualization technology comes with different capabilities such as converged networking from Cisco, synchronous mirroring from DataCore and the ability to quickly grow storage from VMware.

SunGard to open new data center for disaster recovery and business continuity

SunGard Availability Services is opening a data center facility in Sacremento, Calif., for disaster recovery and business continuity purposes. The new facility will address a growing demand from vendors that provide Software-as-a-Service and from IT services that need additional cloud computing environments. The facility will be used mainly for IT services such as hosting services, application services, messaging services, managed data security services, storage services and data replication services. The facility is due to open in May 2010.

Teneros Inc. launched a new disaster recovery offering -- DR-as-a-Service, which is a DR service for network and communication applications such as Microsoft Exchange, BlackBerry and Active Directory. The service is designed to provide businesses with quick data recovery from site failures and outages.
