ChemPoint.com deploys TwinStrata CloudArray
ChemPoint says it previously relied on a tape for off-site disaster recovery (DR). After evaluating multiple off-site options, the company settled on cloud storage for DR at a reasonable cost. ChemPoint has a virtualized environment, so integration with Veeam Software Group backup software was also a factor.
TwinStrata's CloudArray Subscription offered the flexibility ChemPoint needed to protect all three of its sites quickly, the company said. In the event that one site goes down, ChemPoint can use a CloudArray appliance at another site to access the data. TwinStrata also offers the option of deploying a new appliance as an in-cloud application.
ChemPoint also said it was attracted to TwinStrata because the CloudArray subscription offers the ability to deploy unlimited virtual appliances for no extra cost.

STORServer announces STORServer Console v3.0
STORServer, provider of backup solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, announced the availability of STORServer Console v3.0, saying that SSC v3.0 simplifies the use of IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager.
According to STORServer, SSC v3.0 now supports client node replication, which makes it possible for companies to replicate a client node's data incrementally among Tivoli Storage Manager servers at different sites for DR.
In addition, the product offers a number of new reporting features including new replication activities reports that provide information on client node replication, a missed files report that can be configured to include specified policy domains only, and storage pools reports that identify unprotected storage pools.
