According to SunGard, the new feature allows customers to make system changes to live cloud environments -- such as adding new virtual machines, storage or changes to firewall policies -- while reducing the risk of outages.
The company said it also added a non-managed virtual machine option that can be used for non-mission critical environments to conduct VM restarts or applying a patch.
SunGard’s cloud offering is an Infrastructure-as-a-Service that allows customers to hand over management tasks and security of compute, network and storage resources, the company said.
