Vision Solutions to acquire Double-Take Software
Double-Take Software Inc. announced that it has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Vision Solutions Inc. The acquisition will cost about $242 million and Double-Take stockholders will receive $10.55 in cash for each share of Double-Take stock that they hold, which represents a premium of 39% and 21% to Double-Take's enterprise value. Double-Take predicts this transaction will close in the third quarter of 2010.

The Sentinel System is a data backup and disaster recovery product designed for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The Sentinel System is designed to help businesses reduce data loss risks by offering continuous data protection (CDP), local disk-based backup, offsite co-located data backup, local and remote virtualization, and heightened security with 256 bit encryption. The Sentinel System also provides users with business continuity (BC). Data is stored on virtual servers located in colocation facilities, allowing users to access their data if there is an outage or their primary site is lost.
