CDP helps you move from a reactive state to a proactive state in data backups, helping to keep your business up and running. With continuous data protection, you can speed up the backup and restoration process, which in turn enhances and simplifies your DR processes.
By using continuous data protection, you can finally have some assurance of business resumption when something happens like a drive failure, human error or a data center disaster. CDP can also make disaster recovery testing much simpler. One of the biggest gaps in security I see when performing information risk assessments is this very issue: IT doesn't have the time or the means to actually test their disaster recovery procedures. Committing a DR plan to paper and hoping that it works out when needed is not a reliable DR strategy.
