DRM solutions

FYI. The Data Replication Manager (DRM) is an ideal solution for mirroring data online and in real-time to remote...

locations via a local or an extended Storage Area Network (SAN). Using the Data Replication Manager software, data replication is performed at the storage system level and in the background to any host activity.

Compaq DRM is a SAN/controller based DR solution and not host-based.

I agree that DRM can be a good solution for data mirroring. However, when I refer to a "host based" solution, I am referring to a replication solution outside the storage subsystem. As remote (and IP) SANs become more prevalent, perhaps this definition will change.
